Vintage Port & Stilton in Wicker hamper

An incredible example of an old tawny port. A rarity, as few houses will make a 40 year old tawny. The wine is olive gold in colour with rich caramel, butterscotch and hazlenut flavours.

Excellent with soft cheeses such as brie, and a superb dessert wine, particularly with dishes made with coffee and almonds.

Serve lightly chilled at the end of a meal.

Made in Nottinghamshire, the Colston Bassett is the finest Stilton you can buy! It has a complex flavour, sweet and creamy at first before developing a long grassy piquant tang but never sharp or harsh; more mellow and fruity. Stilton can only be made in six dairies in the counties of Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, and Leicestershire. Stilton takes its name from the town of Stilton, where it was first traded at the Bell Inn in the early 18^th Century - but it cannot be made there!
